On Tuesday 20 May 2021, the Regional Council of Guadeloupe spoke on the occasion of the 8th Council of Ministers of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States, to remind us of the fragile nature of our island regions faced with the consequences of climate change, and the necessity for us to strive to improve our energy resilience. On this occasion, the regional authority highlighted the pragmatism demonstrated by Guadeloupe in choosing at an early stage to develop its geothermal sector, and encouraged our Caribbean partners to follow suit by contributing to the achievement of Caribbean Centre of Excellence on Geothermal Energy within the framework of the Energy Transition in the Caribbean project.
